At The International in Amsterdam, where wind and rain have disrupted play since the opening round on June 4, Chacarra fired a third-round 65 to move into a share of the lead at 10 under par alongside Sweden’s Sebastian Söderberg. His three rounds of 69, 69, and 65 on the par-71, 6,914-yard layout show a player who found his rhythm as conditions worsened.

A Week of Weather Disruption

The tournament has been shaped by the elements from the start. Officials suspended first-round play on Thursday because of high winds and storm threats, and DP World Tour coverage described the opening day as “wild and windy.” The schedule has since been adjusted again for Sunday because of forecast stormy winds in the afternoon.

Julien Guerrier, who led after day one, captured the difficulty of the conditions well:

The toughest thing is to believe when you have 120 metres, for me I would have a seven iron, and normally I am 165, so 45 metres difference is huge

Chacarra’s Path to Amsterdam

The 26-year-old Spaniard arrived at The International after a busy stretch. A former LIV Golf player, Chacarra won the Hero Indian Open in March 2025, earning full DP World Tour status for the remainder of that season and setting him on a path toward PGA Tour qualification.

That victory signalled his ability to compete at the top level of European tournament golf. His performance this week suggests he has carried that form into 2026.

Sunday Outlook

With $2,750,000 in prize money on the line and more wind forecast for the final round, Chacarra and Söderberg will tee off in the last group knowing conditions could shift again. His results this week suggest the tougher conditions may suit him.

The final round start times have been moved forward to account for the expected afternoon storms, meaning the leaders will need to produce their best golf early in the day.
