Casandra Alexander secured her second Ladies European Tour title with a wire-to-wire victory at the 2026 KPMG Women’s Irish Open.
The South African closed with a 2-under 70 on the Palmer South Course at The K Club, finishing three shots clear of Sara Kouskova on 20-under. Noora Komulainen took third on 16-under, while Leona Maguire shared fourth with Louise Rydqvist one shot further back.
Alexander’s first victory of 2026 followed five runner-up finishes this season and extended her LET Order of Merit lead to 2,399.98 points.
“I’m really, really pumped,” Alexander said. “This one’s really special. One, it’s a special event. Two, I almost feel as if the second win is just as important as the first one and it proves it’s not a fluke.”
The 27-year-old also credited caddie Doug Pirie, who collected his first victory on the bag. Alexander’s previous LET title came at the 2025 Tipsport Czech Ladies Open.
Alexander Recovers From Early Bogeys
Alexander began the final round three shots ahead after rounds of 63, 66 and 69, but bogeyed her opening two holes. Playing partner Kajsa Arwefjall birdied the 1st and 3rd to cut the advantage to one.
Alexander responded with three consecutive birdies from the 5th, rebuilding her cushion before adding another at the 10th. A bogey at the 12th briefly gave the chasing group another opportunity, but a 30-minute storm suspension did not alter the outcome.
After play resumed, Alexander converted a key birdie putt at the 15th and completed her round with three pars.
“I knew I was going to make the putt after the restart,” Alexander said. “I said to Doug this is a big moment because it’s a bit of a momentum switch.”
Her four-round total was built on an opening course-record 63, followed by a second-round 66 containing two eagles. She held at least a share of the lead after every round.
Kouskova Claims Second Place
Kouskova birdied four holes on the back nine to complete her own closing 70 and finish alone on 17-under. The result continued a strong August for the Czech Olympian following a tied-12th finish at the AIG Women’s Open and 16th place at the PIF London Championship.
Komulainen, who played through illness during the week, surged into third with a 5-under 67 despite finding water and bogeying the final hole.
Maguire followed her third-round 63 with a 68 to finish tied fourth on 15-under at her home club. Rydqvist matched that total to record her best LET result.
Arwefjall shared sixth on 13-under with Corinne Viden, Moa Folke, Amelia Garvey and Shannon Tan, who produced Sunday’s lowest round with a 7-under 65.
The LET season resumes at the La Sella Open in Spain on September 17. Before then, Maguire will represent Europe in the 2026 Solheim Cup at Bernardus Golf.
