Xander Schauffele shot another bogey-free 63 on Friday to reach 14-under and take a five-shot lead in the Travelers Championship.

Travelers Championship 2022 R2

"I think anytime you can hit a lot of greens at any tournament, it definitely makes it a little bit easier on yourself. I feel like Austin and I have just been a little bit more diligent and a little more deliberate with our task when we're over the golf ball and picking numbers and picking sort of the right shot. So I think I'm very focused on that and not much else.

"We've got 36 more holes, and I need to stay aggressive. This is a course that's giving up some birdies, and if you're leading the pack and you get kind of comfortable, people are going to hunt you down."

He has hit 33 of 36 greens in regulation and is the only player remaining without a bogey on his card.

Fellow Americans Patrick Cantlay (67), Harris English (65), Nick Hardy (64) and Kevin Kisner (64) are tied in second place at 9-under alongside Australia's Cameron Davis (66).

American J.T. Poston, who co-led after the first round, carded a 70 to move down into a share of seventh place at 8-under alongside eight other players including his overnight co-leader, Rory McIlroy.

The Northern Irishman held on to the lead for much of his round but suffered a quadruple bogey at the par-4 12th and a double bogey at the par-4 15th to close with a 70.
