Beau Hossler and Michael Brennan share the Wyndham Championship lead at 16-under entering Sunday, with both positioned to play their way into the FedExCup Playoffs.

Hossler followed rounds of 61 and 67 with a 4-under 66 at Sedgefield Country Club. Brennan made eight birdies against one bogey for a 63, matching Hossler at 194 through 54 holes.

Tom Kim, the 2022 Wyndham champion and 2026 Genesis Scottish Open winner, is one shot behind after a 63. Greensboro resident Alex Smalley and Sweden’s Alex Noren share fourth at 14-under following rounds of 65.

After Sunday, the top-70 in the FedExCup standings will advance to the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the first of three Playoffs events. Hossler started the week at No. 122 and has to win to qualify. Brennan came in at No. 105 and must finish no worse than in a three-way tie for second to remain eligible.

Hossler survives two weather delays

Hossler began Saturday as the 18-hole and 36-hole leader, but his round was interrupted twice by lightning. The first suspension lasted 33 minutes, while the second stopped play for one hour and 20 minutes.

After the opening delay, Hossler three-putted the par-3 16th from about 30 feet. The bogey ended a run of 31 holes without dropping a shot. He then found thick rough from the 17th tee before play was halted again.

Hossler protected his score with several difficult par putts after returning. He ranks first in the field in Strokes Gained: Putting at 7.652.

“That might be the hardest two-putt on the PGA Tour right there,” Hossler said of the 18th green. “Was really glad to get that down in two and give myself a chance for tomorrow. But very chaotic day, and just glad to make it through.”

The 31-year-old is seeking his first PGA Tour title in his 252nd start. He has finished runner-up four times, most recently at the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship, and is projected to rise to No. 54 in the standings if he wins.

Brennan closes with birdie

Brennan reached the lead by making a 15-foot birdie putt at the 18th. His 54-hole total of 194 is two strokes better than his previous career low.

The 24-year-old won the 2025 Bank of Utah Championship as a sponsor exemption in only his third Tour start. He is now pursuing a second victory in start No. 29, having recorded one top-10 finish across 22 appearances this season.

“I know where I need to be. I know what I need to do. I know I’m going to be thinking about it,” Brennan said. “Just get myself to come back to the golf I’m playing.”

Kim leads the chasing group

Kim played without a bogey and can become the 11th multiple winner of the Wyndham Championship. He was 20 years, one month and 17 days old when he won at Sedgefield in 2022, making him the event’s youngest champion.

Smalley and Noren begin two shots back, while Davis Thompson is sixth at 13-under. Thompson’s 65 included an albatross at the par-5 fifth, where he holed an 8-iron from 186 yards.

Jordan Smith also produced one of Saturday’s standout shots, acing the 169-yard 16th with a 9-iron. Smith is tied for eighth at 11-under and projected to move from No. 68 to No. 64 in the FedExCup standings.

Keegan Bradley, meanwhile, is tied for 58th at 4 under. The No. 72 in the FedExCup standings needs at least a two-way tie for 38th to have a chance of extending his run of 15 consecutive Playoffs appearances.

The 17-year-old Canadian closed a bogey-free 65 with her third eagle of the week at Centurion Club.
