Casandra Alexander Rallies to Win Ladies Italian Open by Three Shots

• Casandra Alexander won the Buccellati Ladies Italian Open at 12-under par by three shots.

• Alexander has won twice on the Ladies European Tour in four weeks.

Casandra Alexander recovered from four shots behind after five holes to win the Buccellati Ladies Italian Open by three at Golf Club Milano on Sunday.

The South African closed with a 3-under 69 to finish at 12-under, ahead of Germany’s Sophie Hausmann and American rookie Anna Morgan. It was her third Ladies European Tour title, following her win at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open four weeks ago and her maiden victory at the 2025 Tipsport Czech Ladies Open.

Alexander’s recovery at Golf Club Milano

Alexander began the final round tied for the lead with Moa Folke and Alexandra Försterling. She birdied the 1st, made double bogey at the 2nd and dropped another shot at the 5th. By then, she was four off the pace.

An eagle at the par-5 9th brought her level with Folke and Hausmann heading into the back nine. Morgan briefly joined Alexander at the top with a birdie at the 15th, but Alexander birdied that hole and the 16th before adding another at the last.

At the 18th, Alexander drove 280 yards down the fairway, pitched to six feet and holed the birdie putt. Her husband, Adi, was waiting by the green.

“I’m glad I didn’t have to wait for this one as long as I waited for the previous one,” said Alexander.

“My game’s in the right place to win golf tournaments, so I’m looking forward to the rest of the season and having more opportunities. As golfers, as soon as you get one, you’re after the next one, so I’m really happy to walk away with the win and it’s great to be here in Italy.”

Hausmann’s 64 and the Order of Merit

Hausmann’s eight-under 64 earned her a share of second with Morgan at 9-under. Morgan closed with a 69 after giving Alexander a challenge on the back nine.

“It was a bit of a grind,” said Hausmann. “I haven’t really been in this position before during my rookie year, so I was nervous early on. I’m proud of myself for hanging in there, turning it around and giving myself a chance coming down the stretch.”

Overnight co-leaders Folke and Försterling finished in a four-way tie for fifth. Italians Alessandra Fanali and Anna Zanusso shared ninth place with Eleanor Givens.

Alexander led the LET Order of Merit after the La Sella Open and has extended her advantage over Anna Huang. She will take a short break at Lake Como before returning to competition at the Aramco Korea Championship.
