Noora Komulainen, Patricie Mackova, Casandra Alexander and Alexandra Försterling each shot 67 on Friday to share the Buccellati Ladies Italian Open lead at 5-under.
Försterling matched the morning leaders with her afternoon round at Golf Club Milano in Monza. England’s Eleanor Givens sits alone in fifth Ladies Italian Open on 4-under, with home favourite Alessandra Fanali among nine players tied for sixth at 3-under.
Eagles for Komulainen and Mackova
Komulainen, who began on the 10th, reached the par-5 9th from 200 metres with a 3-wood and holed a putt from about 10 metres for eagle on her final hole.
“After the pro-am I even texted my coach that this course is really tough and I couldn’t see myself going under par because it felt so long and narrow,” she said.
Mackova made her eagle at the par-4 11th. “I hit a good drive on 11, had 64 metres in and hit a really good wedge. Then it went in,” said the 24-year-old, who was pleased with her round after a difficult spell earlier in the season.

Alexander stays tidy as Försterling starts fast
Alexander, who leads the LET Order of Merit and recently won the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, made six birdies and one bogey.
“It wasn’t the most unbelievable round, but I was very tidy,” she said.
Försterling birdied six of her opening nine holes to turn in 30. She came home in 37, including two bogeys, and said the narrow course suited her game.
“You have to be careful with what you hit off the tee because there are a couple of doglegs and small greens,” she said.
The International GT Open at nearby Monza Circuit could be heard during play. enjoyed the sound:
“It’s not really distracting. It’s quite a nice sound and you can see a little bit of the track, so that’s quite cool,” added Försterling.
Fanali closes with an eagle
Australian Justice Bosio recorded the first hole-in-one of the tournament, acing the par-3 12th from 120 metres with a pitching wedge.
Fanali birdied the eighth and holed a 2.2-metre eagle putt at the par-5 9th to sign for 69. She said she had stayed patient after a couple of three-putts earlier in her round.
“I wasn’t expecting too many people, so I’m happy about it and I hope to see even more over the next few days,” she said.
