Peláez Triviño Wins Aramco China Championship With Hole-in-One and Flawless 64

The Spaniard started Sunday in a share of 10th at Mission Hills China, aced the 13th and finished with three straight birdies for her first LET title since 2022.

  • Ana Peláez Triviño won the Aramco China Championship, three shots clear of the field.
  • Her bogey-free final round of 64 included a hole-in-one at the par-3 13th.
  • England’s Mimi Rhodes finished second after a closing 71.

Ana Peláez Triviño began the final round of the Aramco China Championship in a share of 10th place, five shots behind overnight leaders Luna Sobron Galmes and Charlotte Heath. She finished it with the trophy after a bogey-free 9-under 64 on the World Cup Course at Mission Hills China.

It is a second Ladies European Tour title for the 28-year-old Spaniard. Her first came four and a half years ago at the 2022 Comunidad Madrid Ladies Open on home soil.

How the round unfolded

Peláez Triviño birdied the 2nd, 4th and 6th to turn in 3-under, then added another at the 11th. Her tee shot at the par-3 13th went in for an ace and took her into the lead. She finished birdie, birdie, birdie to win by three on 20-under.

“That hole-in-one was a game-changer, I had a lot of holes left. I told myself to just shoot one shot at a time and I was happy and grateful,” said Peláez Triviño, who played alongside Casandra Alexander and Cara Gainer. “It was such a good vibe. Golf looked easy.”

The win follows a tie for seventh at the Wistron Ladies Open in Chinese Taipei last week.

“At one point, I thought I would never be in this position again. It’s hard to believe in yourself when you’re not feeling okay,” she said. “On paper, it says two wins, but I think the person who won four and a half years ago and the person who won today physically might look the same, but inside right now it’s just me being thankful for being out here playing golf and actually enjoying golf.”

“I have been trying to win, but not needing to win as enjoying the game was the most important,” she added. “Shooting 9-under today and knowing I had pressure and how to deal with it and being present was for sure the most enjoyable round I’ve ever played on Tour.”

Rhodes runner-up, five share third

Rhodes went into Sunday alone in third place, one shot off the lead. A 2-under 71 left her alone in second on 17-under, a week after she shared third in Chinese Taipei.

Five players tied for third. They were Heath, Sobron Galmes and a Chinese trio of Liqi Zeng, Shiyuan Zhou and defending champion Ruixin Liu. Liu closed with a 69 that included seven birdies.

“I loved it. The home crowd is amazing, they cheered me on every single hole. I felt very loved this week. With the shoulder injury, being able to finish like this I feel pretty positive,” said Liu.

China’s Yujie Liu, who sat fourth after the opening round, was leading amateur in eighth on 15-under. South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace, Germany’s Patricia Isabel Schmidt, England’s Annabell Fuller and Czechia’s Sara Kouskova shared ninth one shot further back.

The LET now takes a two-week break before the season-ending Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho. It will be played at La Cala Resort from November 26 to 29.
